About Us:
The California Self Storage Association is managed by the Executive Director, under the guidance of the all volunteer Board of Directors who all are actively involved in the industry as owners, managers and vendors. The Board of Directors represents the interests, not only, of the large multi-site operators but also the smaller single site operator.
Our Mission:
The mission of the CSSA is the promotion of a high standard of professionalism which is adhered to by all of its members, to provide a unified voice for the Self Storage Industry for the State of California and to enhance the performance and quality of the services our industry has to offer. Guiding us in achieving an overall mission of member satisfaction, CSSA concentrates on the following goals:
- To enhance the quality of the self storage industry in California
- To provide leadership in California on issues which specifically affect the self storage industry
- To be the premiere California resource for industry information, education, research, and technical expertise
- To impact the standard of conduct in the self storage industry in California
Code of Ethics:
As Adopted by the Membership of the California Self Storage Association, Inc.
This Code of Ethics represents an effort to promote and maintain the high standards of professional service and ethical business conduct among the members of the Association in all their dealings with their self storage customers.
ARTICLE I
A member shall deal fairly and honestly with all of their customers and treat them with professionalism and courtesy.
ARTICLE II
A member shall always operate their self service business within the guidelines prescribed by the accepted principles of professional business conduct and under the terms of the governing laws of the State of California.
ARTICLE III
A member and all of the member's employees shall conduct his or her professional life in accordance with the interests of the improvement of the Association and the industry at large.
ARTICLE IV
A member shall not engage in a practice which tends to compromise the integrity of the Association, the self storage industry or stand in violation of any process of government.
ARTICLE V
A member agrees to carry out the spirit as well as the letter of his or her written Occupancy Agreement which is provided to all customers in the process of renting self storage space.
ARTICLE VI
A member shall not intentionally communicate false or misleading information and shall adhere strictly to truth in advertising and marketing their self storage property.
ARTICLE VII
A member shall not intentionally injure the professional reputation or business of another member or other competitor.
ARTICLE VIII
A member shall treat his or her employees as professionals and compensate them fairly for their efforts and work to enlist the employee's best efforts in service to all customers.
ARTICLE IX
A member shall pledge to adhere to the above articles of the Code of Ethics and proudly display them to customers and employees as a testament of their commitment to the principles set forth.

A customer who feels that they have not been treated in accordance with this Code can register a formal complaint with the California Self Storage Association at its offices at 3780 Kilroy Airport Way Suite 200 Long Beach, CA 90806
